You have a stellar resume - good undergraduate GPA, work experience at known global brands and some impactful extra-curricular initiatives; but so do hundreds of other applicants who are trying to get into that same school where you aspire to be. So, how does the b-school decide who gets in and who does not?
At the end of the day, there is just one litmus test that summarizes the school’s decision: Will the school be able to help you get to that post-MBA aspirational goal that you have set for yourself?
If the school is convinced that you have what it takes to get to that goal, and that the school can actually help you get your foot in the door - then you get into that MBA program. Your GPA, GMAT/ GRE scores, work experience and everything else are just data points that help the school answer that one litmus test question. But, as hundreds of other applicants have a stellar resume as well, what really determines the outcome is the consistency of your stories and aspirations in your essays, and how well can you show it to the school (through those essays and interviews) that you are well placed to realize that aspiration goal.
We at MBAhorizon help you craft every piece of your application to convince the b-school on the same and to pass that litmus test. Don’t be surprised if you feel like being tested on similar parameters when you are trying to break into a McKinsey or a Goldman Sachs after getting into the MBA program - because, these firms rely on the business school's admissions process as the first screening step in their own recruitment process.
With our first hand experience at the leading consulting firms, we help our mentees not only to get into the business school of their choice, but also to prepare for that ultimate aspirational professional goal.
